This beloved annual event brings together families, friends, and community partners for an evening dedicated to supporting our students and strengthening our school. With your support, we can make the 2026–2027 school year our most impactful yet.
About Sauvie Island School
Sauvie Island School is a local K–8 public charter school offering a dynamic, community-connected educational experience. Through our Place-Based education model, students engage in hands-on learning that connects classroom instruction to the world around them, supported by strong partnerships among families, educators, and the broader community.
Why Fundraising Matters
As an Oregon public charter school, SIS receives approximately 80% of the state school funding provided to traditional public schools. Fundraising helps close this gap and is essential to sustaining programs, supporting teachers, and maintaining a high-quality learning environment.

Thanks to community generosity, SIS has been able to address long-overdue facility needs—many last updated in the 1980s—while continuing to invest in essential student programs. Recent fundraising has helped make possible:
- Renovated school bathrooms, including new stalls and flooring
- New carpet throughout the school, replacing original flooring
- Fresh interior paint, creating brighter, more welcoming learning spaces
- New cafeteria flooring, improving safety, cleanliness, and durability
- Expanded Place-Based field trips
- Continued support for art, music, STEAM, library resources, and classroom essentials
- Ongoing professional development for teachers
Every contribution directly supports students, teachers, and the learning environment, helping SIS maintain core programs while modernizing the school for today’s needs and future growth.
