2022-2023 PTC Officer Positions OPEN (07/19/2022)
We are always looking for volunteers and now we are taking nominations for open PTC officer positions! Two officer positions are currently open this Fall: President and Treasurer. Duties for officer positions can be found in the PTC Bylaws. Please direct questions and nominations to ptc@sauvieislandschool.org
Treasurer advertisement/description:
Don't have the ability to volunteer with school/children directly but want to make a difference in the school on your own time? Want to expand your connection to the staff and parents? The Parent Teacher Club Treasurer position is a great fit if you have a keen eye for numbers and a dedication to playing a role which keeps the remaining school needs met with PTC funds. Minimal bookkeeping background is required because this position has been molded for years and easy to step into, especially with veteran past treasurers assisting in making a smooth transition. The main responsibilities and approximate time dedication include:
- Using basic bookkeeping skills to enter transactions for checking and savings accounts based on yearly budgets and reconcile bank statements (approx. 1.5hrs per month). Note: No Quickbook experience required as this can be easily learned alongside the previous treasurer.
- Prepare materials for the accountant to satisfy annual tax return requirements (4hrs annually).
- Pay/deposit transactions in a timely manner (average of 2hrs per month).
- Create a budget for next fiscal year (3hrs annually).
- Report Profit and Loss statement at each PTC meeting and answer any questions (monthly during school year).
- Work closely with the Auction committee to ensure the event goes smoothly (additional 4 hours annually during auction time depending on needs).
President:

The President's duties include:
-Presiding over all meetings of the PTC
-Coordinating the work of the PTC officers and members
-Promoting the work of the PTC at school functions and beyond the school community
-Working with the SIS staff to create agendas for each meeting to ensure that the needs of the school are being met
The President has the authority to preside over the Board of Directors if need arises and maintains corporate standing with the state.

2022 SIS Annual Benefit Auction at Columbia Farms on Saturday, May 21st! Starting at 5:00 PM. Outdoor silent and live auctions under the big tent. Rain or shine! Games, cocktail hour, dinner during the live auction, live music and dancing!!!
